A kitchen wall art print: a ramen bowl drawn entirely in reverse — the broth a solid red mass, the noodles and toppings left as bare pink paper — under BUT FIRST RAMEN.
About the artwork
This is the strongest positive-negative reversal in the collection. Nothing inside the bowl is outlined: the broth and the ground behind it are filled solid vermilion, and every ingredient is cut out of that field, standing pale in blush pink. Even the veins of the greens are drawn as unpainted gaps rather than as lines. Two large pak choi leaves spill out over the rim at the upper left, rising almost half the height of the bowl again. A long bundle of enoki lies diagonally across the broth, with a halved egg and two rolled slices of meat below. The gallery layout and white border enclose it.
Why you'll love it
- Drawn inside out. Every ingredient is a hole in the ink.
- Red on blush. Two tones of the same warmth, high contrast.
- Reads from across a room. No fine detail to lose.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Flat, high-contrast prints survive being hung small, so this works in a cluster as well as alone. It suits a kitchen with colour already in it, a studio corner or a dining nook. It also makes a trio with the other two ramen prints — the same bowl in three completely different treatments. Keep the frame thin so the printed border stays visible.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.

Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
