A Boise Idaho travel poster that looks straight down the boulevard at the State Capitol: the sandstone dome and its lantern rising at the centre, columned wings on either side, mid-rise office towers and a blue-glass high-rise flanking it, and the dry, folded foothills filling the whole upper third of the print.
About the artwork
Flat vector illustration built from hard-edged shapes, with light and shade handled as separate blocks of colour rather than gradients. The palette runs warm: wheat and ochre across the hills, sandstone cream and tan on the Capitol and the older brick buildings, deep and mid green for the street trees that crowd both sides of the avenue, grey asphalt with tiny white, red and blue cars, and a pale blue sky. The road, marked with lane lines and a crosswalk, pulls the eye from the bottom edge to the dome. The type sits at the top, sans-serif and all caps, reading BOISE with IDAHO beneath it. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A real vantage point — this is the view up Capitol Boulevard, not a flattened row of buildings.
- Hills that do the work — the golden foothills behind the dome are what make the city look like nowhere else.
- Depth in layers — trees, street, downtown, Capitol, ridgeline: five planes stacked without clutter.
- Warm throughout — ochre, cream and green make it an easy fit in rooms that already lean warm.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The wheat-and-green palette is easy to place. It looks settled on beige or oatmeal walls, and beside the oak console in the photographs above the sandstone tones read as part of the wood. In a sage room the green canopy takes over and the hills warm the whole corner. Pair it with rattan, linen and unpainted timber.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The street detail and small cars stay readable from 16" x 24" up. Over a sofa or a bed, go to 24" x 36" or 30" x 40".
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and rolled. Matte canvas arrives stretched and ready to hang. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? BOISE across the top with IDAHO in smaller capitals underneath. Nothing else is printed on the artwork.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
