A Blagaj Tekke poster of the white lodge at the source of the river: a small Ottoman house with a dark timber upper storey standing right where a vast grey cliff meets water so clear it goes emerald at the edges and turquoise in the middle.
About the artwork
The cliff takes the top left third and is drawn as a mass of hard facets, pale grey and warm buff with deep shadow in every fissure, scrub clinging wherever there is a ledge, and a dark cave mouth where the spring comes out. Against all that stone the building is tiny and precise: white rendered walls, black-framed windows in neat rows, a projecting timber storey with a shallow overhanging roof, a stone terrace and a wooden footbridge at the water. An olive tree leans in from the right with silvery leaves picked out one by one, and a single dark cypress rises behind it. The pool below fills the lower two thirds, painted in bands from deep emerald under the cliff to bright aquamarine in the shallows, with submerged rocks visible as soft green shapes and a wide drift of gold star-shaped sparkle where the sun hits. A mossy boulder anchors the bottom left. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Bosnia & Herzegovina beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Water you can see into. Rocks read through the surface, which is what makes the turquoise convincing.
- Scale played straight. A small house against an enormous cliff, with nothing exaggerated.
- Emerald, grey and white. A cool, saturated palette that acts almost like a colour field on a plain wall.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The dominant note is water, so this one earns its place in a bathroom, a spa-like ensuite or a bedroom you want to feel cool. It sings against chalk white, soft stone and pale clay walls, and next to unglazed ceramic, linen and olive wood rather than anything glossy. White or pale oak frames keep it airy; avoid heavy dark mouldings, which fight the green. Beside the Berat print it makes a two-piece set built entirely on turquoise rivers.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Why is the water that colour? It is a spring rising straight out of the cliff, so the artwork paints it as very clear, shallow water over pale rock, emerald in the shade and aquamarine in the sun.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
