A minimalist wall art print of a black sun at dead centre, with fine dashed rays bursting out to every edge of the pale cream sheet.
About the artwork
The disc takes up roughly a third of the width and carries a thin cream ring just inside its rim, like the edge of a record or an eclipse. Around it, dozens of thin black rays radiate outward. Each ray is broken into segments, and the breaks line up in concentric rings, so faint circles seem to appear in the empty spaces. The rays run right off the edges of the sheet, while the ground has a soft paper grain.
Why you'll love it
- Sunny, in black and white. A sun motif that stays neutral.
- Optical but calm. The broken rays create gentle rings without dizzying the eye.
- A strong centre point. Perfect for symmetrical spots above a bed or mantel.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Because the sun sits exactly in the middle, this print loves symmetry: centre it over a bed, a mantel or a console flanked by two lamps. It suits pale oak, white plaster and black accents. A black frame gives it a crisp outline; natural wood warms it. Pair it with other black-and-cream celestial prints for a quiet set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Are the rays solid lines? No — each ray is dashed, and the gaps line up in rings around the sun.
Is the paper texture raised? No, the soft grain is part of the printed image.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
