A black cherries still life poster in black and white: a heap of glossy cherries in a footed silver bowl, set above a rippling checkerboard cloth.
About the artwork
The bowl stands in the middle of the sheet, and its polished body mirrors the black and white squares below it. The cherries are stacked high, with long stems poking out in every direction. A white ribbon is tied in a bow around some of the stems, then wraps the bowl and falls toward the checks. The checkerboard fills the lower half and bends in soft waves, which keeps the image from feeling stiff. The upper half is a pale wall, so the fruit pile stands out sharply.
Why you'll love it
- A fresh take on kitchen art. Fruit still life, made modern with crisp contrast.
- Good for dining spaces. It suits a breakfast nook, dining room or open kitchen wall.
- Retro charm, clean look. The checkerboard nods to the past while staying sleek.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Hang it above a sideboard, a coffee station, or a small dining table. A black frame grounds the heavy checkerboard, and natural wood brings warmth to the kitchen. It pairs well with the floating ballet flats design, which repeats the same rippling checks.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Are the cherries in color? No, the whole image is black and white, so the cherries appear deep black and glossy.
Is there any text on it? No, there is no lettering.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
