An Assisi travel poster looking up from the olive terraces: a chalk-pale lane winding out of the foreground, cypresses standing along its edge, and the long basilica with its two towers holding the ridge above the town.
About the artwork
A slow S-curve does the work here. The lane enters at the bottom of the frame wide and bright, bends left, then narrows and climbs away through the trees towards the town, and the eye follows it the whole way. Either side of it the olives are drawn tree by tree, each canopy stippled in silver and grey-green over a short dark trunk, with dry grass and pale stones along the verges. Cypresses are set in as narrow dark spikes at irregular intervals, giving the slope a beat. Above them the hillside turns to soft green scrub, then the town appears as a run of pale limestone walls and low terracotta roofs, with the basilica stretched along the ridge — a long arcaded flank and two square towers, brighter than anything else in the picture. A green mountain shoulder rises behind it under a clear teal sky. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Italy beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A road that goes somewhere. The lane leads you up to the town instead of leaving you outside it.
- Olive silver and pale stone. A soft, dusty palette that never shouts across a room.
- The basilica in profile. Drawn along the ridge as one long low building, the way you actually see it from the valley.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Gentle and slightly hazy, so it belongs somewhere calm — a bedroom, a reading corner, a hallway that gets soft light. Chalky white, greige and pale stone paint all suit it, as do aged oak, rush seating and unpolished stone surfaces. A natural oak frame is the honest choice; a warm white frame lifts the limestone town and keeps everything quiet. It hangs comfortably beside the Lucca print, which shares the same green hills and terracotta roofs.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
What are the trees along the road? Olives on the terraces and cypresses lining the lane, both drawn individually rather than as one green mass.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
