This Cartagena Colombia travel poster looks down a narrow lane in the walled old town. On the right, ochre and cream houses carry deep wooden balconies loaded with magenta bougainvillea. On the left, weathered terracotta roof tiles step down towards the water. People walk the cobbles under white parasols, and the lane opens onto turquoise sea beside a low stone rampart.
About the artwork
Drawn as a rich vector illustration with layered shadow rather than flat blocks, it holds detail down to shutters, lanterns and roof tiles. The palette pairs warm ochre, honey and terracotta with hot magenta flowers, then cools sharply into turquoise water and sky. The steep viewpoint turns the street into a diagonal that splits the frame. CARTAGENA sits in white capitals with COLOMBIA beneath. Portrait orientation, 2:3 ratio.
Why you'll love it
- Magenta against ochre — the bougainvillea gives one loud colour in a warm, quiet scene.
- Street level and sea in one — the lane leads the eye out to open water and the rampart.
- Detail that rewards a close look — shutters, lanterns, parasols, and figures on the cobbles.
- Warm without being dull — turquoise keeps the honey tones from turning heavy.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Honey walls and pink flowers make this a natural fit for a cream, sand or blush room rather than a grey one. Above a dining table with cane chairs and linen it reads like a window onto the street. In a bedroom, a dusty pink cushion or a rust throw picks up the bougainvillea. Terracotta pots, aged brass and unpolished wood belong with it; high-gloss white does not.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What is the stone wall by the water? It is part of the ramparts that ring the old town of Cartagena. The print shows a bastion at the end of the lane where the street meets the Caribbean.
What size should I get? Above a sofa or bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" holds the wall. For a desk, shelf or gallery grouping, 12" x 18" and 16" x 24" are the easiest to place.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas arrive unframed. The framed canvas option adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
