This Medellín watercolor print shows the checkered gray-and-white Palacio de la Cultura Rafael Uribe Uribe rising over the bronze Botero sculptures of Plaza Botero. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Medellín, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
The palace facade is built from dense alternating gray and white squares in ink and wash, topped with a silver-gray dome. The Botero figures are glossy charcoal shapes, and yellow guayacán trees appear as bright lemon dabs. Gray, black and white from the palace meet valley green and brick red, lifted by vivid yellow blossoms and colorful umbrellas. The palace stands right of center with its dome and spires in the upper third, while a Medellín Metro train crosses a concrete viaduct on the left. Valley slopes covered with red brick homes rise behind, and the paved plaza with round bronze figures and palms fills the foreground in mild, spring-like weather. "MEDELLÍN" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Rounded bronze figures. Full-figured Botero statues, including a bronze horse, stand in the plaza.
- Guayacán in bloom. Yellow flowering trees add bright spots of color across the square.
- Metro overhead. A metro train runs on an elevated track beside the brick towers.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The gray and yellow scheme suits a modern living room, an office with black accents or a bright entryway. It is a cheerful gift for a Paisa friend, or for anyone who walked among the statues in Plaza Botero.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Medellín? No. It is an artistic interpretation of downtown Medellín, gathering the palace, plaza and metro into one watercolor scene.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "MEDELLÍN," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
