This Tulum travel poster looks along a rocky headland from sea level. In the foreground, pale limestone boulders sit in the shallows while a low wave breaks white against them. Behind them a fissured cliff rises, tufted with dry scrub and agave. On the clifftop at the right stands a squat stone building with a flat roof and two dark doorways, with open navy water filling the left half of the frame.
About the artwork
The scene is drawn in layered vector shapes with heavy hatched shading, so the rock face is described by hundreds of short vertical strokes rather than smooth gradients. The palette is cool and restrained: chalk grey and bone for the limestone, olive and rust for the scrub, aqua in the shallows, and a wide band of deep navy speckled with white for the sunlit open sea. The composition is split diagonally, cliff against water, with the ruin placed high on the right so the eye climbs to it last. The lettering at the top reads TULUM above MEXICO. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Stone before sand — this is a rocky coast, cut cliffs and boulders, not a soft beach view.
- A ruin with a view — the small clifftop building gives the picture a story and a clear focal point.
- Deep navy anchor — the dark open sea gives the print more weight than a pale coastal scene, so it holds a large wall.
- Texture up close — hatched limestone, dry scrub and foam are all drawn line by line and stay sharp at big sizes.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Chalk grey stone and deep navy make this the most sober print of the Yucatan group, so it suits rooms with darker or earthier walls: greige, mushroom, clay or a deep petrol blue all work, and it will not look washed out on a charcoal feature wall. An espresso or black frame follows the shadow in the rock face; natural oak softens it if the room is already dark. It sits well in a study or home office above a desk, or over a leather chair, and it pairs with stoneware, linen and unglazed terracotta rather than bright accessories.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What is the building on the clifftop? It is one of the stone structures of the walled Maya site above the sea at Tulum, drawn small and in the distance: a low block with a flat roof and two dark openings, half hidden by scrub.
What size should I get? Above a sofa or bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" holds the wall. For a desk, shelf or gallery grouping, 12" x 18" and 16" x 24" are the easiest to place.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas arrive unframed. The framed canvas option adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
