This Antigua Guatemala watercolor print shows the yellow Santa Catalina Arch over a cobblestone street, with the cone of Volcán de Agua rising behind. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Antigua Guatemala, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
The mustard arch is built up in several layers, with fine ink lines on its white trim and clock face. Volcán de Agua is a soft, pale violet-blue cone, and the cobblestones are loose blue-violet-gray patches with paper showing through. Earthy yellow and volcanic blue-violet lead the palette, with hot pink bougainvillea, sky blue and pink walls and jacaranda purple as accents. The arch and its domed clock tower sit slightly left of center, and a ruined church bell tower stands at the far right. Low pastel houses with window grilles and tile roofs line 5a Avenida Norte in the foreground during the dry season. "ANTIGUA GUATEMALA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Woven huipil. A woman in a woven huipil carries a basket on her head.
- Red tuk-tuk. A small red tuk-tuk rolls along the cobbled street.
- Bougainvillea wall. Pink blossoms spill over the wall on the left.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Golden yellow, pink and violet bring warmth to a living room, a kitchen or an entryway with terracotta or woven textiles. It is a sweet gift for someone who studied or volunteered in Antigua, or for anyone who has walked under the arch.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Antigua Guatemala? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Antigua Guatemala. A few details are rearranged for the composition, but the arch, the volcano and the cobbled street keep the town's character.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "ANTIGUA GUATEMALA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
