This Lima, Peru watercolor print shows the twin bell towers of the Cathedral of Lima beside the carved wooden balconies of the Archbishop's Palace on the Plaza Mayor. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Lima, Peru, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
The cathedral facade is washed in pale cream-yellow, with dense ink linework on the carved portal and bell towers under dark gray spires. Dark cedar balconies are drawn slat by slat, and the gray plaza is mostly left as bare paper. Colonial mustard yellow and stone cream lead the palette, with palm green, dark wood brown, orange-red flower beds and the red and blue of a ceremonial guard. The cathedral stands left of center and reaches into the upper third, yellow arcaded buildings frame the square, and a tiered fountain sits in the middle. Cerro San Cristóbal rises in the background with its cross and antennas under a clear, mild summer sky. "LIMA" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Ceremonial guard. A line of guards in red and blue uniforms stands before the cathedral.
- Carved cedar balconies. The enclosed wooden balconies are drawn in close, dark detail.
- Plaza moments. A shoe shiner under an umbrella, pigeons and people on stone benches fill the square.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.

- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Warm mustard, cream and wood brown suit a living room with leather, terracotta or rattan accents, and it works well in a dining room too. Give it to someone with family in Lima or keep it as a memento of a trip to Peru.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Lima, Peru? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Lima's main square in watercolor and ink, so the scene is arranged for the painting rather than drawn as an exact view.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "LIMA," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
