This Buenos Aires watercolor print shows the white Obelisco rising over Avenida 9 de Julio, seen from a rooftop above the wide avenue. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Buenos Aires, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Layers of ochre and green dabs form the avenue trees, and fine ink lines trace iron balconies, mansard roofs and windows. The Obelisco is left almost white with soft grey shading, and a drip runs down the left edge. The palette is cream stone facades and slate-grey mansards under pale blue, with yellow fall leaves and taxi yellow as accents. The Obelisco stands just left of center, with a Beaux-Arts building and its black domed corner tower on the left, a large stone block with mansard roofs on the right, the avenue cutting diagonally between them, and towers and distant water beyond. The trees are just turning gold in early fall. "BUENOS AIRES" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Black-and-yellow taxis. Classic cabs and colorful buses fill the many lanes of the avenue.
- Parisian-style rooftops. Mansard roofs, iron balconies and a domed corner tower frame the view.
- Golden median trees. The tree-lined median is turning yellow for early fall.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Cream, slate and ochre suit an urban living room, a dining room or an office with black metal and walnut. It is a warm gift for someone who studied in Argentina or loves to dance tango.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Buenos Aires? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Buenos Aires built around the Obelisco and Avenida 9 de Julio, with the surrounding buildings painted loosely.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "BUENOS AIRES," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
