This Shanghai watercolor print shows the Oriental Pearl Tower and the Lujiazui skyline across the Huangpu River, viewed from The Bund. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Shanghai, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
The glass towers are washed in thin blue-gray with fine vertical ink lines, and the tower's spheres are a pink-violet wash with an ink grid. The river is laid in horizontal blue strokes with reflections, and cherry blossoms are dotted in pink at the left edge. Glass and river blue lead the palette, with beige stone on The Bund and accents of pearl pink and jade green. The Oriental Pearl Tower stands left of center, while the twisting Shanghai Tower, the Shanghai World Financial Center and Jin Mao Tower rise on the right. Historic Bund buildings with a clock tower and domes fill the lower left in spring, and pink-blue drips mark the white border. "SHANGHAI" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Old and new Shanghai. Historic Bund buildings face the glass towers of Lujiazui across the water.
- Busy Huangpu River. A white tour boat and a cargo barge travel the river below the skyline.
- Spring blossoms. Pink cherry blossoms soften the edge of the modern cityscape.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The blue and pearl-pink palette suits a modern living room, an office or a condo with sleek finishes. It makes a strong gift for someone relocating from Shanghai or a business traveler who knows The Bund well.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Shanghai? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Shanghai. Some elements are added or rearranged, such as the historic buildings placed in the foreground.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "SHANGHAI," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
