This Sand Harbor watercolor print shows the huge rounded granite boulders of Sand Harbor rising from clear turquoise water on the east shore of Lake Tahoe. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the shoreline, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine brown ink outlines the smooth boulders and the trunks of Jeffrey pines. The lake is washed from clear turquoise to sapphire, with submerged rocks showing through and glints of light left as white paper. The boulder cluster sits right of center in the middle ground, seen from a rocky point looking southwest, with a small sandy cove and a row of pines on the left. Blue Sierra Nevada peaks with patches of snow line the horizon, and shallow water over sunken granite slabs fills the foreground. The midsummer scene fades into blue and gold streaks with long drips on the left. "SAND HARBOR" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- See-through water. Sunken rocks show clearly under the transparent shallows in the foreground.
- Summer on the lake. Red and yellow kayaks, a paddleboarder, sunbathers on the sand and a swimmer about to jump from a boulder fill the scene.
- Granite and sapphire. Grey-beige stone and pine green balance the turquoise and sapphire lake, with white snow on the far peaks.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
The cool blues and soft granite tones work in a lake house, a guest bedroom or a living room with grey or natural wood accents. It is a fine keepsake for someone who spends summers at Tahoe, or a housewarming gift for a new cabin. Pair it with our Lake Tahoe watercolor print for a two-piece set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Sand Harbor? No. This is an artistic interpretation of Sand Harbor, so the boulders, coves and pines are arranged for the composition rather than mapped exactly.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "SAND HARBOR," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
