This Lake Tahoe watercolor print looks down on Emerald Bay from Inspiration Point, with Fannette Island and its small stone tea house at the center. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Lake Tahoe, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
The water shifts from shallow turquoise to deep cobalt in smooth washes, and the granite boulders are drawn with fine ink and violet-blue shadows. Long blue drips run at the lower left and lower right, with blue, yellow and violet splatter around the border. Emerald and cobalt water and pine green form the base, with white snow on the peaks and red-orange kayaks as accents. Fannette Island sits in the center of the bay, pine-covered slopes wrap both sides and the deep blue lake and snowy mountains stretch across the back. Big granite rocks, twisted pines and hikers fill the foreground in early summer, with snow still on the summits. "LAKE TAHOE" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Two-tone water. Turquoise shallows fade into deep cobalt across the bay.
- Bay boat traffic. A white paddle-wheeler and scattered yellow and red kayaks dot the water.
- Hikers' lookout. Three hikers stand on a granite boulder beside twisted Jeffrey pines, taking in the view.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Emerald, cobalt and pine green suit a mountain cabin, a bedroom or an office with natural wood. It's a great gift for a skier, a hiker or a family that spends summers at the lake.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Lake Tahoe? No. It is an artistic watercolor interpretation of Emerald Bay, made to capture the colors of the water and mountains rather than an exact view.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "LAKE TAHOE," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
