This Phnom Penh watercolor print shows the gold and green roofs of the Royal Palace Throne Hall, with the Sisowath Quay riverside promenade and its flags in front. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Phnom Penh, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines trace the tiered roofs with curling naga finials, the face-topped spire and the crenellated palace wall, while the water is washed in blue with bright ripples. Saffron and gold roofs with jade trim lead the palette alongside water blue and leafy green, with frangipani white, bougainvillea pink and red-and-blue Cambodian flags as accents. The Throne Hall sits left of center with its spire in the upper third, a cream palace wall with pointed gates stretches behind, and a tour boat glides at middle right. A stone promenade with flagpoles, lampposts and railings cuts diagonally across the front, and faint city towers rise at right. "PHNOM PENH" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Cyclo ride. A pedal cyclo carries a passenger along the promenade.
- Feeding the pigeons. A family scatters food for pigeons by the railing.
- Row of flags. Cambodian flags and white frangipani line the walkway.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Gold, jade and blue tones lift a living room, office or hallway with brass, teak or deep green. It is a warm gift for Cambodian families or someone who spent time living in Phnom Penh.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Phnom Penh? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the Royal Palace and the riverfront. The layout is rearranged, so the palace and the water sit differently than they do in real life.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "PHNOM PENH," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
