A minimalist abstract wall art print of one tall column of gray ink rising through soft ivory, its edges feathered like smoke caught mid-drift.
About the artwork
The column fills most of the width and runs the full height of the sheet, leaving only a narrow strip of ivory down each side. Its darkest part is a charcoal shape low and slightly left of centre, pinched at the waist like a bottle or a knot. Above it, on the right, the ink turns to a mid gray, while the upper left breaks up into a pale, frayed patch that is almost white. Every edge has the combed, bristly look of a dry brush, and the ground shows the faintest paper grain. There is no colour at all beyond the gray scale.
Why you'll love it
- Pure grayscale. No stray colour to clash with a sofa, rug or wall paint.
- Soft, not stark. Feathered edges keep black and white from feeling harsh.
- Tall and narrow. The vertical column lifts a low ceiling or a narrow wall.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This one does best where a room needs quiet: above a bed, in a bathroom or at the end of a hallway. It sits easily with linen, pale oak and stone, and a white or natural frame keeps it airy; black makes the dark core stand out. Pair it with another soft gray ink or smoke-like piece from the range for a calm set of two.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is there any text or signature? No — the print is ink shapes only, with no lettering.
Is it black and white? It is shades of gray from near-black to pale silver on an ivory ground, with no other colours.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
