A black rotary phone poster in black and white: a vintage dial telephone on a round chrome side table, with a satin bow tied to its coiled cord.
About the artwork
The phone sits in the lower right of the sheet, leaving wide open space above it. Its silver dial catches the light, and the coiled cord loops toward the left, where a black satin bow is knotted. The table top is mirror-bright and reflects the base of the phone, while thin chrome tubes form its legs. A diagonal band of light falls across the grey wall behind, adding depth and a quiet sense of afternoon. The empty space above makes the scene feel still, like a call waiting to happen.
Why you'll love it
- Nostalgia, minus the clutter. A retro object shown simply, with plenty of breathing room.
- Great in a hallway or office. A phone feels natural near an entry, a desk or a reading chair.
- Pairs with chrome and black. Its metal tones match modern lamps, stools and hardware.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Hang it above a console in the entry, next to a desk, or beside a bedroom armchair. A black frame echoes the phone body, and a white frame plays up the bright chrome. Group it with the black cherries and ballet flats designs for a set built around bows.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is it a real rotary phone? It shows a classic dial telephone in a black and white still life setting.
Does it have writing? No, there is no text on this design.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
