A minimalist wall art print of five black moon phases stacked in a single column on pale grey-cream, moving from crescent to full moon and back again.
About the artwork
Five solid black shapes stand in one column down the centre, almost touching the top and bottom edges. From the top they run crescent, half moon, full circle, half moon, crescent: the upper crescent opens upward, the lower one opens downward, and the two half moons turn their flat edges toward the ends of the column, so the sequence mirrors itself around the full moon in the middle. The black carries a faint grain, like ink pressed onto paper, while the ground stays almost flat. Wide empty bands on either side leave the column to do all the work.
Why you'll love it
- A calm rhythm. The mirrored sequence gives the eye a steady beat to follow.
- Tall and slim. Fits a narrow wall beside a door or between two windows.
- Pure black on soft cream. Gentler than stark black and white, with the same graphic punch.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The vertical column suits a bedroom above a nightstand, a hallway or a slim wall in a living room. Pair it with linen, pale oak and matte ceramics, and choose a black frame to echo the shapes or a natural frame to warm them up. For a pair, hang it beside the hand-cut moon phases design in the same range, whose softer, irregular shapes make a good counterpoint.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is there any text on it? No, just the five black moon shapes on a pale ground.
Is the background white? It is a light grey-cream, warmer and softer than pure white.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
