A White Mountains poster taken from high on a bare alpine shoulder, above the weather. A narrow paved road with a broken yellow centre line switches back down the slope on the right, granite boulders and clumps of low alpine scrub cover the foreground, and below the road an unbroken deck of cumulus cloud fills the valleys. Distant blue ridgelines float above the cloud on the horizon under a thin, streaked sky.
About the artwork
Hard-edged vector illustration with fine linework in the rock and vegetation, so the granite reads as cracked slabs and the scrub as tight stippled mounds. The palette is layered blue: pale ice blue at the top of the sky, mid slate for the far ranges, deeper indigo in the cloud shadow, set against grey-green granite, olive and moss scrub, warm tan gravel and clean white cloud tops. The road is the one man-made element and it draws the eye from the middle of the frame to the bottom right corner. Title type is set in white spaced capitals across the sky, WHITE MOUNTAINS above NEW HAMPSHIRE. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Above the cloud deck — the undercast is the whole point, and it is rare to see it drawn rather than photographed.
- Cool blues that recede — the layered ranges give real depth on a wall without heavy contrast.
- A road you can follow — the switchback pulls the eye through the print instead of stopping at the horizon.
- For New England drivers and hikers — anyone who has climbed above treeline in northern New Hampshire on a clear morning.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Almost the entire print is blue and grey, so it is easy on cool walls: white, pale grey, or a soft blue-green. The plain white wall with the light oak frame shown above keeps the cloud tops bright, and a black frame sharpens the granite for a home office. Against the warm terracotta wall in the photographs it reads as a cool counterweight rather than a clash.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The layered ridgelines need room to separate, so 24" x 36" or larger suits a sofa or bed wall. At 12" x 18" the road and cloud line still read cleanly on a shelf or desk.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? Two lines in white capitals across the sky, WHITE MOUNTAINS with NEW HAMPSHIRE beneath.
What season is this? Snow-free alpine summer or early autumn. The scrub is still green, the road is clear, and the valleys are filled with fair-weather cumulus.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
