A Watson Lake Prescott Arizona poster looking down a narrow arm of turquoise water as it winds between piled granite boulders. Rounded domes of rock crowd both shores, junipers grip the cracks, and a single kayaker crosses the foreground trailing a long wake.
About the artwork
Densely illustrated rather than flat vector, with every boulder given its own rounded shading so the Dells read as thousands of stacked eggs of stone. The rock moves through apricot, tan and pale peach in sunlight to a cool grey-mauve in shadow. Water shifts from deep petrol blue in the foreground to bright turquoise where it shallows over rock, with white ripple lines drawn in. Dark juniper and scrub oak sit in clumps against the granite, and the sky is a clear mid-blue under fat cream cumulus. One small orange kayak with a paddler gives the scale. White capitals at the base read WATSON LAKE, with ARIZONA below. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Water and desert rock together — turquoise against warm granite is an unusual pairing for an Arizona print.
- The kayaker — one small figure that sets the scale of the boulders and gives the eye somewhere to land.
- Balanced palette — half cool blues, half warm stone, so it bridges rooms that are neither strictly warm nor cool.
- For Prescott people — the view from the shoreline trail that locals and paddlers know well.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The turquoise is strong enough to act as an accent colour on its own, so this one lifts a neutral room rather than blending into it. Warm white, sand or clay walls let the granite tones sit naturally, as in the sunlit corner with the woven chair above. Against a darker teal or navy wall the boulders glow instead. Pair with rattan, linen and pale oak.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The boulder texture is fine, so 16" x 24" upward keeps it crisp. Above a sideboard or bed, 24" x 36" gives the lake room to recede.
Does it come framed? Paper prints arrive rolled and unframed. Matte canvas comes stretched and ready to hang, and framed canvas adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Where is Watson Lake? Just north of Prescott in central Arizona, set in the Granite Dells, a field of weathered granite boulders that the reservoir flooded when it was dammed.
What does the poster say? The lettering reads WATSON LAKE in large white capitals with ARIZONA spaced beneath it.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
