This Victoria Street Edinburgh watercolor print shows the curving cobbled street of the Old Town in Edinburgh, lined with colorful shopfronts and climbing toward Edinburgh Castle. It is an artistic, watercolor-style take on the street, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Gray stone buildings are drawn in detailed gray-brown ink, stone by stone, while the shopfronts carry bold transparent washes of red, cobalt, emerald and cream. The cobbles are dotted with fine marks in blue-violet, and orange leaves hang on the trees. Victoria Street curves uphill from the left foreground to the right, seen from the bottom of the street. Bright shops sit beneath a raised walkway with iron railings on the right, tall stone tenements with crow-stepped gables line the way, and a church spire and Edinburgh Castle on its rock rise in the background. It is crisp early winter, with people in coats. "EDINBURGH" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Jewel-tone shopfronts. Red, cobalt and emerald fronts stand out against the gray Old Town stone.
- Walker with a dog. A couple in winter coats walks a small dog up the cobbles.
- Castle on the skyline. Edinburgh Castle sits on its rock above the rooftops.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.

Styling it at home
Stone gray with red, cobalt and emerald suits a hallway, a study or a cozy living room with tartan or deep jewel tones. It is a lovely gift for a book lover, a Scotland traveler or a graduate who studied in Edinburgh. Pair it with our Edinburgh watercolor print for a two-piece set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Victoria Street Edinburgh? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Victoria Street, and the castle and a few other details are placed to fit the composition.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "EDINBURGH," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
