A Vianden Castle poster seen from the footpath on the far side of the valley: cream walls and steep slate turrets strung along a rocky spur, with wooded slopes falling away below and a stony trail underfoot.
About the artwork
The viewpoint is the whole idea — you are standing on the opposite hillside, looking across. The castle occupies the upper left third, drawn small enough to sit in its landscape but sharp enough to count the roofs: a run of pale cream walls under blue-grey slate, conical turret caps, stepped gables and square towers along the ridge, with a curtain wall and a round bastion below. Underneath it the hillside drops in overlapping layers of summer green, warm and yellowish where the sun catches the canopy, cool blue-green in the folds, thinning to a hazy pale valley at the far left. The right side of the sheet is close foreground: a bank of grey layered rock with grass tufts in the cracks, and an oak leaning in from the top corner in heavy dark leaf. Along the bottom, a dusty stone path curls up through dappled light. Titled Vianden Castle in wide-tracked uppercase with Luxembourg beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Seen from a trail. Rock, path and leaning oak in the near ground put you on the hillside opposite.
- Slate turrets above forest. A tight cluster of towers set against a whole valley of trees.
- Green in many keys. Sunlit canopy, deep shade and hazy distance, all in the same picture.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Deep and leafy, so it belongs in a room with some weight — a library wall, a reading corner, a stair landing. Forest green, deep olive and warm stone walls sink into it beautifully; on plain white it reads brighter and more like a summer walk. Walnut furniture, brass lamps, leather and a wool rug all sit right with it. A walnut or dark oak frame follows the slate roofs, and black keeps the greens clean. Hang it with the Bouillon Castle print for an Ardennes pair.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Is the castle the main subject? It shares the frame with the valley — roughly a third of the sheet is the near rock face and the path you are standing on.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
