A Verdon Gorge poster from the boulders at the water's edge: a turquoise river running back between limestone walls, a sunlit white cliff on the left, deep green forest coming down to the water on the right, and jagged pinnacles closing the gorge in the distance.
About the artwork
The water is the reason for the print and it is graded rather than flat — almost mint where it runs shallow over pale sand, deepening through turquoise to teal in the channel, with long pale current lines drawn along the flow and a soft amber shadow under every rock. The foreground boulders are built from flat facets in cream, buff and blue-grey with hard shadow edges, several of them sitting half submerged so you can watch the stone turn green below the surface. The left wall is near-white rock in vertical flutes and ledges, ochre-stained in places, with scrub pines rooted wherever there is a crack. The right wall is forest in stepped bands of dark green. Far back, grey pinnacles stand against a pale sky in a narrow notch. Down in the bottom corner a sprig of narrow leaves carries small pink flowers. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with France beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Turquoise that is graded, not flat. The river runs through four or five values from shallow to deep.
- Limestone drawn in facets. The boulders read as cut planes of colour, which keeps the print graphic.
- Pink flowers in the corner. One small warm note against all that cool rock and water.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Cool and clean — turquoise, chalk white, deep green — which makes it one of the easier prints to place in a bathroom, a bedroom or any room that needs a bit of light thrown back into it. Soft white, pale grey-blue and stone walls suit it, with chrome, glass and pale wood. A black frame sharpens the rock edges; a white frame lets the water read as the brightest thing on the wall. It pairs with the Dune of Pilat print as a French landscape set with no buildings in either.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Is the water really that colour? The turquoise is the river's own, and the print keeps it honest by grading it — near-mint over the shallow sand, deep teal where the channel runs.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
