An Urbino travel poster seen from the fields below the town: a pale stone path winding up through rolling meadows and hedgerows, the terracotta hill town gathered along the ridge above with the twin towers of its ducal palace, and rank after rank of pale blue hills beyond.
About the artwork
Roughly two thirds of the print is countryside, and that is the point of it. The foreground meadows are laid in as long overlapping bands of green, yellow-green where the light hits and deep bottle green in the hollows, with the grass ruled in fine parallel strokes so it reads as hay rather than lawn. A pale gravel path enters at the bottom edge, loops through the field and climbs toward the town. Round-crowned trees and low hedges mark the field boundaries, with one darker tree at the left edge for weight. The town is a compact band of salmon, apricot and terracotta buildings along the ridge, roofs packed tight, and above them the palace with its two slender round towers under conical caps, a dome and a bell tower. Behind, three or four ranks of hills fade from grey-green to pale blue. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Italy beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Landscape first. The hills carry most of the sheet and the town arrives as the payoff at the top.
- Terracotta on green. A warm town against cool meadows, the colour pairing this part of Italy is made of.
- The two palace towers. Slim round towers under conical caps make the skyline unmistakable.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Green and calm, and easy to live with in a dining room, study or hallway. It suits cream, sage and warm white walls, and sits well beside walnut, brass and linen. A walnut or espresso frame picks up the rooftops, while natural oak keeps the whole thing light. It hangs well with the Cortona print for a central Italian pair, or beside Guimarães if you want another hill town on the same wall.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
What are the two towers on the skyline? The slim round towers with conical caps belong to the ducal palace on the ridge, the tallest thing in the town.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

- Reads slightly softer than canvas.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
