This Ubud watercolor print shows the Tegallalang Rice Terraces curving up a green hillside, with a small Balinese shrine and palms nearby. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Ubud, not an exact view of the area.
About the artwork
Layered clear green washes build the terraces, and fine ink lines mark every paddy edge. Shallow flooded fields stay light with vertical streaks of young rice, banana leaves and coconut palms are drawn in fine detail, and a yellow drip and green splatter mark the lower left. The palette spans many greens from fresh rice to deep forest, with black thatch, frangipani cream, ceremonial yellow cloth and water blue as accents. The terraces step up the slope right of center, a stone shrine with a black thatched roof and offerings sits on the left beside a bamboo rest hut, and an earthen path with banana leaves runs through the foreground. Misty forested hills and a purple volcano fade into the background on a warm dry-season day. "UBUD" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Ducks in the paddies. A small flock of ducks paddles through the flooded fields.

Styling it at home
Layered greens and soft cream bring calm to a bedroom, a yoga or reading corner, or a living room full of plants. It is a peaceful gift for a friend back from a Bali retreat.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Ubud? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the rice terraces near Ubud. The layout is rearranged a little for the composition, with the terraces set to the right.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "UBUD," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
