A Trillium Lake Mount Hood poster painted from the south shore on a still afternoon. Mount Hood stands at the centre with snow filling its upper gullies, and the whole peak comes back inverted in the glassy lake below. Dark conifers close in from the left, tall Douglas firs rise on the right past a bank of pink wildflowers, and stacked cumulus drifts across a deep teal sky.
About the artwork
The technique is layered and painterly rather than flat vector, with the fir foliage broken into hundreds of small strokes and the snowfields shaded in cool grey-blue instead of pure white. The palette runs dark bottle green and olive in the trees, warm ochre through the shoreline grasses, a small run of coral pink in the flowering shrubs on the right bank, then pale blue-white on the mountain and a saturated teal sky above. The lake carries the whole scene again as a softened reflection with a bright band of cloud through the middle. Type across the bottom reads TRILLIUM LAKE in heavy condensed capitals with OREGON spaced beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The reflection is the point — Trillium Lake is photographed for its mirror of Mount Hood, and the print gives the reflection nearly half the frame.
- A framed view, not a flat vista — conifers on both edges pull the eye down the water to the peak.
- Green that works in a bedroom — deep forest tones with a coral accent, restful rather than loud.
- Recognisable to anyone who has driven Highway 26 — the mountain's profile is drawn accurately, not idealised.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Deep greens and teal settle well on warm white, oat or soft sage walls, and the ochre shoreline links it to rattan, linen and light oak. In the photographs above it sits comfortably above a cream armchair and on a wood shelf in an arched alcove. In a bedroom, a natural wood frame keeps it quiet; against a darker painted wall the espresso frame holds the forest tones together.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a bed or sofa, 18" x 24" or 24" x 36" lets the reflection read properly. Smaller sizes suit a gallery wall where it sits next to other Oregon prints.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? The printed lettering reads TRILLIUM LAKE with OREGON below it. Mount Hood is not named on the artwork itself, although it is the peak in the picture. The lake and the mountain sit inside Mount Hood National Forest, not a national park.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

- Reads slightly softer than canvas.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
