A London Eye poster drawn at pavement level on the riverside walk: an avenue of plane trees on the left, the great white wheel standing clear of everything on the right, and two people strolling away from you into flat morning light.
About the artwork
This is a walking picture, and the pavement is what makes it. Warm cream slabs with terracotta insets run from the bottom corner into the distance, striped across by long tree shadows, and the trees themselves are drawn in fresh yellow-green leaf with dark trunks and a lamp standard between them. The wheel is rendered as a thin white ring with fine spokes radiating to the hub and its capsules spaced evenly round the rim — light enough that the flat blue sky reads straight through it. On the right the river is a band of teal with a moored boat and a low far bank of turreted stone buildings; a metal railing with a warm brown handrail runs the length of the walk. The figures are small and unfussy. Large unbroken areas of blue give it a poster's calm. London is the only place name on the sheet, in wide-tracked uppercase with England beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A pedestrian's view. Taken from the walk itself, not from a helicopter.
- The wheel drawn as line, not mass. It stays airy and lets the sky through.
- Fresh green against flat blue. Two colours doing all the work.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The receding pavement gives it a strong pull into the distance, which is why it suits narrow places — a hallway, a stairwell, the wall at the end of a galley kitchen. Keep the surroundings light: white or pale grey paint, chrome or glass, a slim white or pale oak frame that does not compete with the wheel. Hung at eye level in a corridor it makes the space feel longer.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
What does the lettering on the print say? Only London above England. The wheel is not named anywhere on the artwork.
How is it different from the other London designs? The store carries several London prints and each shows a different part of the city; this one is the South Bank riverside walk under the wheel.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
