An Enchantments Washington poster set in the granite basin of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. A pale, sharply fluted spire rises on the left above a scree apron, a chain of lower towers runs off to the right, and a still turquoise lake fills the lower half of the print, holding a clear reflection of the clouds. Golden larches stand among dark subalpine firs along both shores, with bare granite slabs and boulders at the water's edge.
About the artwork
Densely illustrated with fine linework on the rock, so the fractures and gullies of the spire are drawn individually rather than shaded flat. The palette is deep blue sky and white cumulus, bone and grey-tan granite, a turquoise-to-jade gradient in the lake, and the whole autumn range of the larches from lemon through amber to rust, set against near-black conifer green and low copper heather. Type sits at the base of the print in white capitals: THE ENCHANTMENTS over WASHINGTON. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Larch season, exactly. The gold only happens for a couple of weeks in October, and that is the moment the print is built around.
- Water that behaves like glass. The reflection carries the lower third and gives the composition a second sky.
- Granite drawn as granite. Fluting, scree and slab are all rendered separately, which is what makes the spire read as rock rather than a grey triangle.
- A wilderness few people see. It marks a trip that took planning, not a roadside pullout.
Sizes and materials
- Paper - archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas - stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas - solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Amber larch against turquoise water is a complementary pair, which is why this one lifts a plain wall so easily. It works on warm white, pale grey and greige, and the gold reads especially well against a soft olive or muted clay paint. Beside a cream armchair and a wood side table, like the rooms in the photographs above, the natural oak frame ties into the larch tones; a black frame pushes the granite forward instead.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The larch detail is fine-grained, so 18" x 24" upward. Over a sofa or a bed, 24" x 36" keeps the spire imposing and the reflection legible.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas arrives stretched in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? The printed caption reads THE ENCHANTMENTS in white capitals with WASHINGTON centred beneath it.
Can you just walk in there? Not freely. Overnight travel in the Enchantment Permit Area runs on an advance permit lottery with very few permits issued, so most people who reach these lakes either won a permit or did the whole traverse in a single long day. Worth knowing before planning a trip around the larches.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
