A The Alamo San Antonio poster viewed from the plaza at a three-quarter angle in late light: the humped limestone gable, four carved Spanish columns standing either side of the arched doorway, empty niches above them, and a long shadow thrown across the rough stone wall to the right.
About the artwork
Hard-edged shapes with heavy stipple texture, so the limestone reads as pitted rubble rather than smooth blocks. The palette is only two families: warm sand, amber and honey gold on every sunlit surface, and a deep teal-blue used for the sky, the shadows and the recessed windows alike, with rust and terracotta on the door and the barred window frames. A prickly pear cactus sits in the lower left corner, bare branches break the left edge, and the plaza is drawn as irregular gold flagstones. Printed type reads SAN ANTONIO above TEXAS in white sans-serif capitals. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Angled, not head-on — the three-quarter view shows the depth of the wall and the carved entrance at once.
- Two colours, full range — gold and teal carry sunlight, shade and stone texture without a third hue.
- The carving is drawn — column shafts, capitals and the arch mouldings are rendered, not implied.
- Texture you can read close up — the stipple across the facade gives the stone real grain.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The honey and amber tones warm a cool room fast, which makes this an easy print for grey, white or pale blue walls. Against the terracotta wall in the photographs above the stone almost disappears into the paint and the teal sky does all the contrast. Natural oak and espresso frames both echo the golden stone; a white frame gives the print more air. It hangs well in a living room or a dining room, and pairs with other warm desert palettes.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The stone texture is the point, so 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" is worth it if the wall allows. At 12" x 18" the facade still reads clearly but the stipple flattens.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship rolled and unframed for your own frame. Choose framed canvas for a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? The printed type reads SAN ANTONIO across the top with TEXAS beneath it. The Alamo is shown but not named in the artwork.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
