A Sveti Stefan poster looking down on the fortified islet: red-tiled stone houses and dark cypress packed onto the rock, and a narrow pink sand causeway curving out of the foreground to reach it.
About the artwork
Drawn from high on the headland, so the horizon sits near the top and almost everything below it is water and sand. The islet is a dense mosaic of vermilion and coral roofs over warm stone walls, with cypress and umbrella pines pushed up between them and a squat, blank-walled building closing the far end. The Adriatic around it is laid in flat bands of ultramarine and cobalt, cut with rose and salmon flecks where the light bounces off the chop, the same rose that fills the causeway. That causeway sweeps up the sheet as a wide S-curve, a low concrete wall along one side and a thin lace of surf on both edges. Rounded boulders in blue shadow and warm sand crowd the bottom corners and fix the viewpoint. Colour is pushed hard and kept flat, closer to screen print than to painting. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Montenegro beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The causeway leads the eye. One pink curve from the bottom edge to the island, and nothing else needs to.
- Coral against deep blue. The strongest colour contrast in the Adriatic group, and it carries.
- An island read from above. A viewpoint most travel prints never take, so the shape stays with you.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Loud in the best way, so give it a plain wall and let it be the colour in the room. It works on white and pale sand, and against a clay or navy wall it turns almost tropical. Pair it with rattan, terracotta and warm wood. Natural oak or a white frame keeps the sand tones warm, while black frames it like a photograph. It anchors a summer wall beside other coastal prints from the Adriatic, Greece or southern Italy.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Is this the same coast as the Perast print? Both are Montenegro, but they are different places and different moods. Perast is a calm inland bay at eye level with mountains behind it. This one is an open Adriatic beach seen from above, in coral and deep blue.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
