A Superstition Mountains Arizona poster taken from the desert floor east of Phoenix. A tall multi-armed saguaro stands in the left foreground, and behind it the eroded rust and tan cliff wall of the Superstition ridgeline runs across the whole width of the print, its columns and buttresses catching afternoon light. A sandy trail winds up through the bajada between creosote, palo verde and blooming brittlebush.
About the artwork
Illustrative and heavily detailed, with ribbed shading on the cactus and every gully on the cliff face drawn as its own shape. The palette is a deep cobalt sky over cream and pale grey cumulus, rust, brick and buff on the rock, sage and olive across the desert scrub, and a scatter of yellow brittlebush and small blue wildflowers over red-brown soil in the foreground. Agave rosettes sit along the bottom edge. Type is printed at the base in white capitals: SUPERSTITION MOUNTAINS over ARIZONA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The saguaro is the scale. Placing one cactus in front of a mile-wide cliff wall is what makes the range read as huge rather than pretty.
- Spring in the Sonoran Desert. Yellow brittlebush and blue wildflowers put the scene in the few weeks a year the desert floor turns colour.
- Warm rock, cold sky. The rust cliff against cobalt is a strong contrast that carries across a room without being loud.
- For anyone who has hiked the Peralta or Siphon Draw trails. The angle is the one you get walking in from the west side.
Sizes and materials
- Paper - archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas - stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas - solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Rust, buff and cobalt make this an easy fit for terracotta, clay and warm white walls, and it holds up unusually well on a dark teal or navy paint because the sky already carries that note. In a room with rattan, leather or unglazed ceramics it looks at home immediately. The oak frame in the photographs above warms the desert floor; espresso pushes the print toward the darker end of the rock.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The cliff wall runs edge to edge, so give it width: 18" x 24" for a bedroom or study, 24" x 36" and up over a sofa or sideboard.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas arrives stretched in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, with hardware fitted.
What does the poster say? The printed caption reads SUPERSTITION MOUNTAINS in large white capitals, with ARIZONA centred below it.
Is this the range from the Lost Dutchman story? Yes - these mountains are the setting of the Lost Dutchman's gold mine legend, a piece of Arizona folklore rather than a documented find. The print is of the landscape itself, and the range is rugged, hot and easy to underestimate, so treat it as a hiking destination with water and a map rather than a treasure hunt.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
