A Stonehenge travel poster from ground level on the turf: the standing stones and their lintels grouped against an open blue sky, with hard black shadows thrown long across bright green downland toward the viewer.
About the artwork
The most graphic print in the batch. Colour is stripped back to three ideas — blue sky, green grass, grey stone — and almost all the work goes into shadow. The stones themselves are drawn with visible faceting and lichen mottling in warm and cool greys, so each monolith has its own weathering rather than being a repeated shape. The shadows are solid black wedges, unmodulated, running diagonally out of the frame; they are what make the print read from across a room and what fixes the time of day as late afternoon. The horizon sits low, with a thin band of pale field and hedgerow behind. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with England beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Shadow as composition. The black diagonals do more work than the stones and give the print unusual graphic punch.
- Three colours, no clutter. Easy to place in a room that already has a lot going on.
- Instantly readable. The silhouette is recognisable from the doorway at any size.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Because the palette is so short, this print behaves almost like a graphic poster: it works on strong wall colours where a detailed illustration would get lost, and it is the one in the batch that can hang in a modern, hard-edged room. Black and white frames both suit it; oak softens the contrast more than you might want. It is a good hallway or home office print, and it pairs with another high-contrast landscape rather than a busy cityscape.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Where is the view from? Standing on the grass close to the circle in late afternoon, with the sun low and behind the stones.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.

- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
