A St Ives Cornwall poster looking down over the harbour beach at low tide: wooden dinghies drawn up on wet gold sand in the foreground, a curve of turquoise shallows full of moorings, and whitewashed cottages stacked along the sea wall.
About the artwork
A high viewpoint, which is what makes it. The bottom fifth is beach — ten or so clinker-built rowing boats laid out at different angles, hulls painted pale blue, red, white and green, each throwing a long shadow that tells you the sun is low. The sand carries ripple lines and tide marks and shifts from cream to warm apricot where it is still wet. Then the water: aquamarine over clean sand, jade where weed darkens the bottom, with thirty-odd small craft on their own reflections — open dayboats, working boats with white wheelhouses, a few masts. Along the left, granite harbour walls and a run of white-rendered cottages with slate roofs and stone chimneys climb the hill; the pier runs out to the right with figures walking on it. Beyond, the open sea goes flat navy under a sky graded from peach to blue. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with England beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Boats on the sand. The foreground row of hulls and their shadows is the detail people stop at first.
- Low tide, low sun. Wet sand, long shadows and shallow water give the whole sheet its warmth.
- A white town, not a painted one. Lime-white walls and granite let the boats carry every bit of the colour.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Turquoise and warm sand make this an easy print for a bathroom, a bedroom with white bedding, or a kitchen wall that needs light. It sits well on chalk white or soft blue, beside rattan, rope and bleached wood. White or natural oak frames keep the holiday feeling; black turns it more graphic. It hangs comfortably next to the Bath or Oxford prints as an England group, or with any other coastal view in the collection.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Why does the print say Cornwall? The title names the county; the harbour drawn here is St Ives, seen from the hill above the beach.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
