A St Charles Avenue streetcar poster that puts you on the neutral ground: olive-green car 952 running the grass track, a tunnel of live oaks dripping Spanish moss overhead, and a white Italianate mansion with an iron balcony standing back behind the trees in a pale mint light.
About the artwork
Hard-edged vector shapes with painterly texture in the foliage, built from a narrow green range: deep forest green in the oak canopy, sage and grey-green in the hanging moss, chartreuse and yellow-green in the grass, and a pale mint sky opening on the right. The streetcar carries its olive body, cream roof band and the number 952 on the flank, with rust-brown rails running out of the bottom edge and trolley wire cutting across the canopy. The mansion is ivory with dark green shutters. Printed type reads NEW ORLEANS above LOUISIANA in white sans-serif capitals. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The uptown ride, not the tourist blocks — grass track, oak tunnel and one mansion, which is what the avenue actually looks like.
- A green-on-green study — six or seven greens carrying the whole composition without a competing colour.
- Real detail — car number, roof board, moss strands and rail joints all rendered rather than suggested.
- Deep perspective — the tracks and the oak arcade pull the eye far back down the avenue.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
All that green wants a warm, quiet wall. Cream, oat or clay lets the canopy read as depth rather than a block of colour, and the sage room in the photographs above shows how close tones let the moss detail come forward. A natural oak or walnut frame follows the trunk browns; black frames sharpen the silhouette of the streetcar. It works well in a dining room or a reading corner where people sit close enough to find the car number.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The oak canopy has a lot of fine detail, so 24" x 36" and up gives it room. Below 16" x 24" the moss reads as texture rather than strands.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship rolled and unframed for your own frame. Choose framed canvas for a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? The printed type reads NEW ORLEANS across the top with LOUISIANA beneath it. This edition is the uptown streetcar scene on St Charles Avenue. The studio also makes separate New Orleans designs for the French Quarter, for Jackson Square, and a general New Orleans view, each with its own artwork.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
