A Spartanburg South Carolina poster looking straight down a paved downtown promenade, young shade trees planted in two rows along it, low brick storefronts on either side, and a tall red brick clock tower with a white cupola and spire standing at the far end against a clear sky.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes with crisp edges and dappled light handled as cut planes rather than soft blur. The palette is built on two strong colours: a vivid orange-red brick that carries the tower, the storefronts and the buildings behind, and a mid-teal sky that pushes hard against it. Between them sit olive and yellow-green tree canopies, clipped hedges, and a pavement of grey and sand stone slabs with long tree shadows laid across it. The tower has white stone pilasters, a pale clock face and a teal-roofed belfry. Printed in white capitals at the top: SPARTANBURG, with SOUTH CAROLINA below. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Street level, not aerial — you are standing on the pavement looking up the walk, which is how most people actually remember this downtown.
- Brick red against teal — the strongest colour pairing in this whole series, and it carries across a room.
- The clock tower does the work — one clear landmark centred at the end of the perspective, easy to recognise instantly.
- Upstate, not the coast — shade trees and brick rather than palmettos and beach, which is the South Carolina many people actually lived in.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — stretched canvas in a solid wood floating frame, in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The orange-red brick makes this print run warm, so it locks straight into the terracotta wall shown in the photographs above and works well on cream, clay or soft ochre. Against the sage green room the teal sky picks up the wall and cools it down. A natural oak or espresso frame suits the brick; black frames make the teal sky read colder.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The vertical tower suits a tall, narrow wall, so this one works unusually well at 12" x 18" or 16" x 24" in a hallway or stairwell. Over a console or bed, go to 24" x 36".
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship rolled and unframed. Matte canvas arrives stretched and ready to hang, and framed canvas adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What is the tower? A red brick clock tower with a white cupola at the head of the downtown walk. It is drawn from the scene rather than labelled, so the print stays a view of the street.
What does the poster say? SPARTANBURG in large white capitals, with SOUTH CAROLINA set smaller directly beneath it.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
