A Skanderbeg Square poster drawn from ground level on the plaza itself: the bronze horseman on his pale stone plinth, the columned government building along the left side, and an enormous field of patterned paving running away under low sun.
About the artwork
Half the sheet is floor, which is the unusual decision that makes this one work. Each paving slab is drawn separately and carries its own carved scroll pattern, picked out in scratchy ink line over cream and gold in the light and a flat blue-grey in shadow, so the ground reads as texture rather than emptiness. The statue sits right of centre — a rider in a crested helmet on a heavy horse, silhouetted in cool bronze-grey, raised on a plinth above a broad run of steps. On the left, a long neoclassical block in apricot and peach: a colonnade of tall columns under a plain pediment, arcades at street level, a flagpole on the roof. Ochre and orange apartment blocks close the far side. The sky is flat blue with fine brushed cirrus streaking across the upper right. Titled Tirana in wide-tracked uppercase with Albania beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The paving is the subject. Carved stone pattern across the whole lower half, drawn slab by slab.
- One strong silhouette. Horse and rider give the print a single dark anchor against a pale ground.
- Warm ochre, cool blue. A restrained two-temperature palette that sits well on coloured walls.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Architectural rather than scenic, so it belongs where people sit and think: a study, a home office, a landing above the stairs. Clay, warm grey and putty walls bring out the apricot facades; a deep blue wall pushes the golden paving forward instead. It works beside walnut and brass — a desk lamp, a leather chair, a stack of books. A dark wood or espresso frame suits the bronze; a slim gold frame leans decorative. Hang it with the Berat print for an Albanian pair.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
What words are printed on this one? The artwork itself reads Tirana with Albania beneath — the square is not named on the sheet, so expect the city name when it arrives.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
