A Japanese wave print for a bathroom where you want things to slow down. Jade green waves are stacked densely in many layers of fine line, closed in by a thin border. The lettering, SHIZUKESA and 静けさ, means quiet, and the green does the rest of the work.
About the artwork
One color family carries the design: jade green line work, layered so densely that the waves become a texture before they become water. The lines are thin and even, drawn in the ukiyo-e manner, and a thin border closes the image like the margin of a woodblock-style sheet. SHIZUKESA appears with 静けさ, which means quiet. With nothing but waves inside the border, the eye simply follows the lines. Portrait.
Why you'll love it
- Green instead of the usual blue. Jade green gives you a wave print that sits with plants, sage walls and natural stone, not only blue tile.
- Fine lines, dense layers. The waves are built from many thin lines, so the print looks textured up close and even from the doorway.
- A word that matches the mood. 静けさ means quiet, which suits a room people use to unwind.
- A thin border does the framing. The drawn border finishes the image, so it looks complete even without a frame.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Try it in a bathroom with sage, white or warm gray walls, next to plants, pale wood or stone. Above a towel rail or beside a mirror, 12" x 18" is enough; a larger wall over a tub takes 18" x 24". A natural solid wood floating frame keeps it light and organic. Pair it with a trailing plant on a shelf nearby to repeat the jade green in something living.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What does 静けさ mean? It means quiet, and it appears with SHIZUKESA in Latin letters. The word fits the calm green waves it sits with.
Does the green match sage or olive walls? Jade green sits well with sage and softer greens. On olive, choose a white frame to separate the print from the wall.
Is it too detailed for a small size? No. The thin lines stay readable at 12" x 18", though 18" x 24" shows the layering best.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
