A Scranton Pennsylvania poster looking straight down the main street from above, red brick blocks and stone cornices on both sides, street trees running the whole length of it, and the ELECTRIC CITY sign standing on a brick tower roof with the green ridges of the Lackawanna Valley closing off the far end.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes with hard edges and fine ruled detail in the window rows, cornices and fire escapes. The colour sits in a narrow, muted range: brick red and terracotta for the downtown blocks, sage and olive for the wooded hills, weathered copper green on one steep roof, and a pale duck-egg sky with a few flat clouds. The street itself is drawn in warm salmon with long tree shadows falling across it. The rooftop sign reads ELECTRIC CITY in white letters on a red frame. Title type across the sky in white capitals: SCRANTON, with PENNSYLVANIA beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The sign everyone recognises — the ELECTRIC CITY rooftop sign is the detail locals look for first, and it sits right in the middle of the composition.
- A real street, not a skyline — the view runs down the actual downtown blocks rather than flattening the city into silhouettes.
- Brick and hillside colour — terracotta and olive green, an unusually warm and calm palette for a city print.
- Northeastern Pennsylvania in one frame — the valley ridges behind the rooftops are as much the subject as the buildings.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Brick red and olive make this one of the easier city prints to place in a warm room. It sits naturally against the terracotta wall in the photographs above and works just as well on cream, clay or muted green. Walnut and espresso frames deepen the brick tones; a slim black frame keeps the street detail crisp if the wall is white.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? There is a lot of small architectural detail in the street, so bigger is better here. At 24" x 36" you can read individual storefronts and the sign clearly. At 12" x 18" it reads more as a colour block of brick and green.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship rolled and unframed. Matte canvas comes stretched and ready to hang, and framed canvas adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? SCRANTON in large white capitals with PENNSYLVANIA underneath, plus the rooftop sign inside the artwork reading ELECTRIC CITY on two lines.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
