A seafood wall art print: a sardine tin lying on its side with the lid rolled back down the middle, drawn in cobalt with Sardines and Portugal set at opposite corners.
About the artwork
The rolled lid runs vertically through the centre and splits the tin into two halves that are drawn in completely different ways. On the left is the printed label — two fish and a lemon slice, with the scales built from a dense woven mesh of fine lines. On the right are four real fish standing upright, rendered as flat blocks of solid cobalt with no interior detail at all. Two treatments of the same subject, side by side on one object. The winding key is still attached at the top of the rolled lid.
Why you'll love it
- Two techniques, one tin. Woven line against solid block.
- The lid rolls down the middle. An unusual, specific composition.
- Cobalt with red type. Cool drawing, warm lettering.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The woven scales need size to survive, so 16 x 24 and up, and a wall people walk past closely. A kitchen, a pantry or a dining room all suit it. It pairs with the pink sardine print, which shows the same subject in one warm ink and a very different layout. Natural oak keeps the cream warm; black sharpens the cobalt.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What does it say? Sardines at the upper left and Portugal at the lower right, with printed lettering on the tin itself.
How many fish are there? Four standing in the open half, plus two printed on the rolled lid.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
