A santiago de compostela poster across the cathedral square: two tall carved towers flanking a densely ornamented facade, a wide granite plaza laid out in long slabs, and walkers crossing it with packs on their backs in the low afternoon light.
About the artwork
The facade gets the attention it deserves. Every tier of the towers is drawn separately — pinnacles, balustrades, niches, the finials on top — and the sculpted centre section is worked in enough detail that it reads as carving rather than as pattern. It is all one stone colour, honey and pale grey granite, with the shadow doing the modelling. The square in front is the other half of the picture: an enormous paved expanse in cool blue-grey and warm sand, ruled into slabs that run to the vanishing point, with the figures scattered across it small enough to make the cathedral feel vast. Buildings on the left and right frame the space, and the pale hills of the town show behind. The sky is soft duck-egg blue streaked with fine cloud. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Spain beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Carving drawn as carving. The facade holds up under close inspection.
- Scale. Small figures on a huge square, which is exactly how the place feels.
- Warm stone on cool paving. Honey and blue-grey, a quieter palette than most city prints.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
A meaningful print for anyone who has walked the Camino, and a handsome architectural one for everyone else. The muted stone palette suits cream, greige and sage walls and sits well with linen, aged wood and iron. Espresso and black frames suit the granite; natural oak lightens it. It pairs well with the Porto, Coimbra and Bilbao side of the range as a northern Iberia group.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Who are the figures crossing the square? Walkers arriving at the cathedral, which is the traditional end point of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage routes.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
