A Sacramento, California travel poster taken from the boat docks on the river bank, with the marigold lift towers and trusses of the Tower Bridge filling the top left, the white Capitol dome sitting small among trees on the far bank, and a line of timber mooring piles running away down the right edge.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes with hard edges and a strong diagonal build — the bridge deck cuts down from the upper left while the dock walkway runs back on the opposite diagonal, and the two meet at the dome. The palette is almost entirely two colours pushed hard: saturated marigold and amber for the steelwork, teal and cobalt for the sky and river. Between them sit dark slate concrete piers with diagonal shuttering marks, olive and sage trees, warm brown mooring piles and pale weathered decking. The best passage is the water, where the bridge reflection is drawn as hundreds of separate gold flecks over green. Look also for the cross-braced X in the lift tower, the small pointed spire behind it, and the ribbed cream drum of the dome. The printed type reads SACRAMENTO above CALIFORNIA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- That specific gold — the bridge's real paint colour carries the whole print, and it is the single warmest note in this series.
- Two landmarks, one frame — the lift bridge in close-up and the Capitol dome in the distance, from a viewpoint you can actually stand in.
- Reflection work — the broken gold on the green water is the detail people notice second and keep coming back to.
- Docks in the foreground — the piles and decking give the picture depth and put you on the water rather than on the embankment.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Gold and teal is a confident pairing, so this print is happiest as the only strong colour on the wall. It looks best on white, warm grey or a deep navy, and it is a good match for brass and rattan. Against the sunlit wood-grain wall in the photographs above the amber steel and the timber tone reinforce each other. Natural oak or espresso frames suit the gold; a white frame keeps it fresh in a kitchen.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The reflected gold on the water and the truss lattice both gain a lot with size. 18" x 24" is a good desk or hallway size; 24" x 36" is the one for a main wall.
Does it come framed? Paper ships unframed and rolled. Matte canvas is stretched and ready to hang. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? SACRAMENTO in tall white capitals across the sky with CALIFORNIA smaller beneath it. The bridge itself carries no lettering in this artwork.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
