A Japanese tiger print for a living room that wants one bold, graphic statement. It is a tight close-up of a tiger's head turned in profile, mouth open in a roar, white fangs showing. Black stripes cut across cream fur, and the red background is blotchy and uneven, like an old, worn screen print.
About the artwork
Three colors do everything here: cream for the fur, black for the stripes and a red ground that is mottled and uneven in the manner of an aged screen print. The head is cropped close and turned sideways, so the open jaw and white fangs become the focus. There is no lettering at all, which keeps the attention entirely on the roar. Retro in finish and graphic in shape, it reads clearly from a distance. Portrait.
Why you'll love it
- No text, just the tiger. Without lettering, the print never needs explaining and fits any room's story.
- Cropped for impact. The close-up profile fills the sheet, so the roar reads clearly even from the far side of the room.
- Cream fur instead of orange. A pale cream coat with black stripes gives a cooler, more graphic tiger.
- Worn red texture. The mottled red background has the uneven look of an old screen print, which adds grit to a clean, modern room.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Put it where a living room needs a focal point: above a leather sofa, over a record cabinet, or on the wall you see first when you walk in. The red holds its own on white, warm gray or olive walls. At 24" x 36" it carries a sofa wall alone; at 18" x 24" it slots into a gallery wall as the loudest piece. A natural wood frame softens the red and a black one sharpens it. Pair it with a woven rattan armchair nearby.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Does this print have any lettering? No. It has no text at all, only the tiger's head on a mottled red background.
Can it go on a gallery wall? Yes. At 18" x 24" it works as the anchor of a gallery wall; surround it with quieter prints in cream, black or wood tones so the red stays in charge.
What wall color suits the red background? White, warm gray and olive green all give the red room to breathe. On a red or orange wall it loses its edge.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
