A Reno, Nevada travel poster standing in the middle of Virginia Street looking straight through the steel arch, its red banner curving overhead, rows of palms and casino marquees running down both kerbs and a bare desert peak closing the far end of the street.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes with hard edges, drawn as a one-point perspective so the road, the kerbs and the palm trunks all converge on the mountain. The palette is built on contrast: a deep cobalt sky with no gradient at all, silver-white steel lattice in the arch, a scarlet banner with cream lettering, mid-green palm fronds, then tan, sage and slate on the peak. Look for the slim antenna spires on top of the arch, the ring-shaped decorative lamps on its face, the vertical marquee blades and small red street banners along the block, and the cars queued at the lights. The printed type reads RENO above NEVADA at the top; the arch itself carries the words The Biggest Little City in the World. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The arch is drawn, not implied — every strut, spire and lamp ring in the lattice is rendered, which is why the top half of the print holds up close.
- Cobalt and scarlet — the flat blue sky against the red banner is the loudest colour pairing in this series and reads clearly from across a room.
- Street level, straight down the centre line — you are standing on the asphalt, not looking at a skyline from a hill.
- Palms and a desert peak in one frame — the mix that makes northern Nevada look like nowhere else.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This is a strong-colour print, so give it a quiet wall. Warm white, greige and pale clay all let the cobalt sit forward; a dark charcoal wall turns it into a lightbox. In the walnut sideboard and terracotta setting shown in the photographs above the red banner picks the wall colour up directly. Black frames suit the graphic edges best, and natural oak softens it for a bedroom.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The arch lettering and the marquee blades are small on the sheet, so 18" x 24" is the practical minimum if you want to read them. In a hallway or above a console, 24" x 36" suits the vertical street view.
Does it come framed? Paper ships unframed and rolled. Matte canvas is stretched and ready to hang. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? RENO in white capitals above NEVADA at the top of the sky, and across the arch itself the city's old slogan, The Biggest Little City in the World, in cream letters on a red banner. Casino marquees along the street are drawn as shapes rather than readable names.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
