A Regensburg travel poster taken from the water: the medieval stone bridge stepping across the Danube on its arches, the red-roofed old town stacked behind it, and the cathedral's twin openwork spires rising above everything on the right.
About the artwork
The viewpoint is low, at river level, and the Danube fills the bottom half in bands of teal, jade and near-black, drawn as long horizontal strokes with pale highlights where the current catches the light. Above the waterline the bridge runs the full width — pale limestone arches on cutwater piers, with a small watchtower partway along — so the eye travels left to right and lands on the town. The roofs are the colour event: dozens of terracotta and vermilion planes at different heights, punctuated by a square gate tower, a green-capped spire and a slim clock tower. Highest of all the Gothic cathedral shows two openwork spires and a long nave in cool grey-green, with the tracery drawn rather than suggested. Warm roofs, a cold river, a flat teal sky. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Germany beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The stone bridge in full. Every arch and pier drawn, not implied — the oldest thing in the view.
- Terracotta against teal. Complementary colours doing the work, with no filter or fake texture.
- Openwork spires. The cathedral stonework at the top right is the detail people look for first.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The teal-and-terracotta pairing is warm enough for a living room and cool enough for a study. It works on white, pale grey and soft green walls, and beside walnut or mid-brown furniture the roofs pick up the wood. A natural oak frame keeps it friendly; a black frame makes the river read colder and more graphic. It pairs neatly with the Bamberg print if you want two Bavarian river towns on one wall.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Which bridge is in the picture? The medieval stone bridge over the Danube, seen from the water with the old town roofs and the cathedral standing behind it.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
