A Reflection Canyon Utah poster taken from the rim, looking down on a deep blue channel that swings in a tight S through stacked sandstone benches. Late light rakes the western walls, white mineral streaks run down the shaded side, and flat-topped mesas fade out along the horizon under a pink and grey sky.
About the artwork
A detailed painted illustration with strong tonal modelling rather than flat shapes. Sandstone is carried in burnt orange, salmon and pale tan, each bench edged with a fine drawn line so the layers stay separate; the water is almost navy where the cliffs shadow it and turns steel blue in the open. Overhead the sky moves from deep blue through mauve and rose cumulus to a warm gold band at the horizon. Sandstone slabs and low dark shrubs occupy the very bottom of the frame. The bottom band reads REFLECTION CANYON over UTAH in white capitals. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- One of the hardest views in Utah to earn — this overlook sits deep in the Glen Canyon backcountry, and very few people ever stand on that rim.
- The meander shape does the work — the double curve of water reads instantly, even as a small print across a hallway.
- Navy against burnt orange — an unusually saturated pairing for a landscape print, and the reason it holds a dark wall.
- Real geology, drawn honestly — the layered benches and streaked walls are recorded rather than stylised away.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The deep water gives this print enough weight for a dark wall: charcoal, ink blue or a deep olive all work, and the orange rock lifts against them. On a pale wall it reads warmer and quieter, as it does on the teak sideboard in the photographs above. Walnut and dark oak suit it better than pale birch, and a single brass lamp nearby picks up the gold at the horizon.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The layered rock rewards scale. 24" x 36" and up is where the bench edges and the streaked walls separate properly; below 16" x 24" the far mesas start to merge.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
How do people reach this viewpoint? On foot, over many hours of open desert walking from the Hole-in-the-Rock road, with no maintained trail and no water along the way. Most visitors see this bend of Lake Powell from a boat instead.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
