This Teotihuacan pyramid poster looks down the length of a wide golden avenue. Hundreds of small figures walk away from the viewer in loose streams, each trailing a long blue shadow across the paving, and the ground rises to a broad stepped pyramid with a central stair, a smaller pyramid to its left and a bare ridge of hills behind.
About the artwork
The drawing is smooth flat vector with soft airbrushed gradients, so the plain fades from warm apricot in the foreground to pale gold at the horizon without a single hard edge. The palette is almost two colours: sand, ochre and gold for the ground, dusty slate blue for every shadow and for the cloudless sky, lifted only by pinpricks of red, teal and orange in the walkers' clothes. An elevated viewpoint puts the paved avenue at the bottom edge and narrows it to the stair at the centre. The lettering reads TEOTIHUACAN above a smaller MEXICO. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Hundreds of tiny walkers — the crowd streaming along the avenue is what gives the plain its scale.
- One-point perspective — the avenue narrows straight to the central staircase and pulls the eye with it.
- Almost two colours — sand and dusty blue only, so it stays calm on a wall that already has a lot going on.
- The city of Teotihuacan — the great stepped pyramid and its smaller neighbour, seen from above the avenue rather than head-on.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Because the whole picture is sand and dusty blue, it behaves like a neutral: hang it on chalk white, oat, greige or a soft denim-blue wall and nothing fights. Light oak echoes the gold plain, while a black frame sharpens the small figures and the pale sky. It suits a bedroom above a round bedside table, where the wide empty sky reads as restful, and it pairs well with linen, jute and unglazed pottery rather than anything shiny.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Why does the print say Teotihuacan rather than Pyramid of the Sun? The lettering names the ancient city; the Pyramid of the Sun is the large stepped pyramid at the end of the avenue, and it is the one drawn at the centre here.
What size should I get? Above a sofa or bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" holds the wall. For a desk, shelf or gallery grouping, 12" x 18" and 16" x 24" are the easiest to place.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas arrive unframed. The framed canvas option adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
