A Plitvice Lakes travel poster from the boardwalk: plank walkway running out of the bottom of the frame, turquoise pools stepping away from it over travertine ledges, curtains of water falling from a mossy shelf on the left, and dark spruce forest closing in behind.
About the artwork
The greenest print in the catalogue, and it earns it — there are at least eight distinct greens at work, from the near-black of the spruce to the acid yellow-green of sunlit ferns in the foreground. Against them the water is the opposite: a flat, almost artificial turquoise that only exists in a lake with that much dissolved limestone, broken by pure white where it spills over each ledge. The falling water is drawn as separate vertical strands rather than a sheet, which is what stops it from reading as a grey smear. The boardwalk gives the composition its perspective, running plank by plank from the viewer's feet into the picture. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Croatia beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Turquoise you cannot fake. The lake colour is the reason people go, and it is the reason this print carries a wall.
- You are standing in it. The boardwalk starting at the bottom edge puts the viewer on the path.
- Cool and calming. Green and water, no warm colours at all — a genuinely restful image.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This is a bedroom, bathroom or reading-corner print rather than a statement piece for a hallway — the palette lowers the temperature of a room. It sits well on white, warm grey and pale green walls, and next to linen, rattan and light oak. Natural and white frames suit it; black closes the forest in too much. Pair it with another water or forest scene, not with a saturated cityscape.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Where is the view from? From the wooden walkway that runs beside the lower lakes, with the falls on one side and the pools stepping away ahead.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
