A Pikes Peak Colorado poster that puts the fourteener where locals actually see it from: across the red rock country on the west edge of Colorado Springs. Tilted sandstone spires crowd the foreground, a rolling scrub plain of juniper runs back through the middle, and the long snow-covered summit ridge sits above blue-green foothills.
About the artwork
Densely illustrated with fine hatching in the rock and stippled clusters in the scrub, closer to a painted plate than a flat vector graphic. Three colour zones do the work. In front: brick red, salmon and rust sandstone, olive junipers, and a bright band of yellow rabbitbrush with sprays of white bloom at the lower right. Behind: cool teal and slate ridges. Above: the summit in white and pale grey with brown rock showing through the snowfields, under a deep petrol-blue sky carrying flat-bottomed cream cumulus. White sans-serif capitals near the base read PIKES PEAK over COLORADO. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Summit and foreground together — the red rock formations give the mountain scale instead of leaving it as a distant white lump.
- Snow that stays put — the peak holds snow into summer, and the print keeps that year-round contrast against warm rock.
- Autumn yellow — the rabbitbrush band adds a warm accent that most mountain prints do not have.
- For anyone who has been up — cog railway riders, Barr Trail hikers and highway drivers all recognise this profile.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Rust, ochre and petrol blue give this print a foot in both warm and cool schemes. It looks right on a warm white, sand or soft terracotta wall. The cream sofa and rust cushions in the photographs above show how the sandstone tones tie into upholstery. In a home office, an espresso frame sharpens the snow; natural oak leans into the desert side of the palette.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? There is a lot of landscape depth here, so 18" x 24" and up keeps the summit ridge readable. Above a sofa or headboard, choose 24" x 36" or 30" x 40".
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang straight from the box.
What does the poster say? Just two printed lines, PIKES PEAK and COLORADO. Colorado Springs and the red rock park in the foreground are not named on the artwork.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
