A Phoenix, Arizona travel poster that puts the Sonoran Desert in front of the city. A stand of tall saguaros with lifted arms fills the foreground, brittlebush and prickly pear scatter across the pale gravel wash, the downtown towers rise behind in blue glass and brick red, and a long ridge lit salmon and rose closes the skyline.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes with hard edges and warm low-angle light. The palette splits cleanly in two: cool teal glass, slate blue and a pale mint sky above, then desert warmth below in sand, ochre, olive and dusty gold, with red-orange flower heads picked out on the prickly pear. The mountain is built from three tones — shadow blue, salmon and pale rose — with a hard line between lit and unlit faces. Saguaro ribs are drawn as thin vertical strokes, which keeps them reading as cactus even at small size. A brick clock-face tower sits at left among the mid-rises. Typography is white and centred at the top: PHOENIX above ARIZONA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Desert first, city second — the saguaros take the front half, which is what makes this valley different from any other American downtown.
- Warm against cool — ochre ground and salmon rock set against teal glass towers.
- Detail worth reading — flowering prickly pear, brittlebush clumps and a scatter of small barrel cacti in the wash.
- Sunset light, not midday glare — the ridge is lit from the side, so the print stays warm rather than bleached.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Ochre, olive and salmon make this a warm print, so it settles quickly on cream, clay or a soft terracotta wall like the sideboard scene in the photographs above. Against plain white the teal towers become the accent instead. It sits naturally with leather, rattan and unfinished oak, and a black frame keeps the desert tones from going too soft.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? There is fine detail in the cactus field, so 24" x 36" or larger over a sofa or sideboard shows it properly. For a desk or gallery wall, 12" x 18" still holds the saguaro silhouettes.
Does it come framed? Paper ships rolled and unframed. Matte canvas is stretched and ready to hang. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? Two white lines in the sky: PHOENIX, with ARIZONA below it. No building signage or other lettering is readable on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
